Leveling Up Character Rank Bond Rank Lacrima Upgrading Facilities

As you advance the story, your enemies will steadily become more formidable and tougher to handle.
You will need to work on leveling up your team members in order to find victory in battle.

Leveling Up

Winning battles will earn you experience points, or EXP.
Earn enough EXP to level up and gain an increase in stats. Sometimes you will also acquire new magic.

Note that characters who are not on your team will still gain 50% of the EXP earned.

Doing things like unleashing your Magic Chain and using Link Hunt will gain you extra EXP in battle.

Character Rank

You can raise your Character Rank using Fairy Points, which you will obtain as your guild rises in the ranks.
Each character will acquire skills with a variety of effects as their Rank increases.

Bond Rank

Bonds will grow for the members of a team who completed a request together.
Holding Link Parties will also deepen the bonds between the participants.
Deepen your bonds enough and a appear for characters outside your base. By talking with such characters, you can raise your Bond Rank, strengthening your Magic Chain.

Note that unlocking the Stage facility in the guild will make it possible for you to hold Link Parties.

Lacrima

Equip Lacrima to receive a variety of useful effects in battle.
These effects include increasing your stats, adding status ailments to your attacks, and more. Try changing up your equipment to suit your needs.
Level up enough and the amount of Lacrima you can equip will increase.

You can equip Lacrima by selecting Change Equipment from the Lacrima section of the main menu.

You can create new Lacrima and recycle Lacrima you don't need at the Laboratory facility in the guild.

Upgrading Facilities

Certain guild facilities will help you strengthen your companions.
Upgrading the Kitchen will increase all of your team members' HP.
Once you have unlocked the Bar Counter, you will be able to order drinks that can give your team members a temporary boost.
