Synthesis

Synthesis Basics

Synthesis is an alchemical process that combines multiple ingredients to create a new item.
Synthesizing an item requires ingredients and a recipe.

Learning Recipes

You can learn recipes by reading references.
References are generally purchased at the Academy shop.

Utensils

Some recipes specify certain utensils that will help with the synthesis.
Having those utensils on hand will increase the synthesis success rate.
Utensils can be purchased at the Academy shop.

Keep an Eye on Your MP and Fatigue!

Synthesis consumes MP and builds fatigue.
You can't synthesize items without MP, and your success rate will be lower with high fatigue.
MP and fatigue recover a little every day.
Using restorative items or resting a number of days in the atelier bed recovers a substantial amount.

Restorative items can be used via Container in the Main Menu.

Check your MP and fatigue via Formation in the Main Menu.

Choose a Recipe

Inspect the cauldron in your atelier to select your desired recipe.

Items you cannot create will be grayed out.

The necessary ingredients are displayed on the bottom left of the screen.

Rank

The rank of an item.

Basically, higher rank items (indicated by more stars) are harder to make.

Days

The number of days required to make 1 item.

Fractions are rounded up, with the full figure shown on the right.

Effects

The effects the item has when used.

Lv. (Marie's LV/Recommended LV)

The level required to create the item.

If Marie's level is lower than the recommended level, the synthesis success rate will decrease, and vice versa.

MP Cost (Cost of 1 Item/Marie's Current MP)

The MP required to make 1 item. You must have enough MP to synthesize the item.

Select Quantity

Select the number of items you want to make.

Required ingredients, MP, and time depend on the number of items being synthesized.

Perform the Synthesis

Conduct the synthesis and, if successful, create the items.

Synthesis Success/Failure

Synthesis has a success rate. A lower success rate makes a synthesis more likely to fail.

Why is my success rate so low?

  • Marie's LV is lower than the item's recommended LV.
  • Marie has high fatigue.
  • The specified utensil is not in your possession.
