Are Beasts Capable of Saving Humans?
Long ago, the great battle against
the monstrous Nightlord left a lasting effect on the world.
Foul creatures, known as "Fiends," surfaced during the night,
leaving humans with only the light of the sun as their ally.
A world that would never sleep.
An agent of the Curia, Aluche, is given orders to guard her close
friend and now-priestess, Liliana.
After fighting fierce battle after battle, the two eventually find their
way to the Curia, only to discover a cruel truth. Liliana had been chosen
to be the next sacrifice, the "Bride of Time," one fated to be offered
up to the Moon Queen. Filled with despair and shock, Aluche begins to
carry out her mission of escorting Liliana to the Moon Queen's location.
However, they never make it. On the way, they're attacked by a
fierce fiend, and Aluche dies in battle.
When next she wakes, she discovers that she has been brought
back from the dead as an artificial half-demon. According to a Curia
researcher, Liliana was nowhere to be found, leading them to come
to the conclusion that she had been taken to the ruined city.
The newly revived Aluche makes her way there in hopes of saving
her friend, an unwanted, dark power lurking within her body.
The World Without Night
The world of "Nights of Azure 2." The remnants of what used to be modern civilization are strewn about. Once occupied by humanity, much of the land has been taken over by fiends, leaving devastation in their wake.
Ruined City Eurulm
The ruined capital. Four years before the beginning of this story, the capital had to be moved due to a sudden spike in fiend activities. Aluche, Liliana, and Ruenheid all once used to call this place home.
Saint's Forest
A dim forest filled with large trees. Fiends in the form of wolves and bees make this place their home. A river runs through the forest, and there are even spots with beautiful flowers and fireflies. Small buildings are scattered about, but there don't appear to be any humans left here.
Hidden Mine
A hidden mine located near Eurulm. Originally constructed to mine minerals from the mountain and transport them to the city, the mine is now as quiet and still as the rest of the world. Multiple fiends make this place their home.
Espheria Imperial Academy
The academy that Aluche and her friends once attended. After the capital was relocated, the school was shut down due to a lack of new students. It's divided into eastern and western wings, and has both a large library and a church. Located nearby is a beautiful spot called "The Hill of Falling Stars."
Frozen Moon Palace
A palace that sits upon the frozen earth. It radiates an aura that one might describe as not of this world. Purple clouds cover the sky, and it would appear as though there's a rotted ship docked near the palace.
