Ambitious new features were added, such as Versus Mode, where two players could compete under four different rules; Edit Mode, where custom officers could be created; and duels on the battlefield. In addition, the series continued to evolve and branch out with unique weapon units like rams, catapults, and juggernauts, and additional attacks such as jumping charges and Charge Rush.
