The second game in the series added various new elements, evolving the game even further thanks to features that have become ubiquitous to the series such as True Musou, two-player simultaneous play, and the officer development system. The Nanman stage was also added, and players were able to ride elephants. It was the first game in the series to sell over a million copies.
