INTRODUCTION
This game is a full remake of the second title in the FATAL FRAME series, FATAL FRAME/Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly. In this Japanese horror adventure, twin sisters wander into an abandoned village infested with wraiths, and use the Camera Obscura, which has the ability to capture and contain the impossible, to fight against them.
The game has been completely remade—not only in graphics and sound, but also in gameplay systems and controls. The series’ signature system—repelling wraiths by photographing them with the Camera Obscura—returns in this title, allowing for a richer use of the Camera Obscura in both exploration and combat.
In addition, a new gameplay feature has been introduced in this title: the ability to hold hands with Mayu. This allows players to feel the sisters' bond more deeply throughout the story.

The eldest of the twin sisters.
Quiet, reserved, and introspective by nature.
As a child, she slipped on a mountain path and injured her right leg, and to this day is unable to run as she once could. Because of this, she relies deeply on her younger sister, Mio. She has strong supernatural instincts and becomes possessed by a spirit that leads her deep inside Minakami Village.

A fragile-looking young man with white hair, confined within the storehouse.
He calls Mio “Yae” and offers her various pieces of advice throughout her journey.

The first wraith that Mio and Mayu encounter in Minakami Village.

A folklore specialist who visited Minakami Village — active and skilled in field research.
Fascinated by the village’s legend of a "place that must never be seen" he continued his investigation even while being treated as an outsider.
He is the one who brought the Camera Obscura to the village; a device capable of capturing things that should not exist.

A powerful wraith against which the Camera Obscura has no effect.
