Mitama

These are the souls of former heroes that were imprisoned by the Oni. Slayers possess the unique ability to draw in Mitama and communicate with them. Normally, Mitama are affixed to weapons to imbue the Slayer with additional powers.

Battle Style

Each Mitama has a favored battle style, or how they carry themselves in battle; Attack-style Mitama favor a more aggressive style, and Defense-style Mitama are more conservative, for example. Each style provides different Skills for use by any Slayer that has that type of Mitama equipped. Mitama also possess different abilities that aid the Slayer in battle as well.

A Mitama specializing in summoning Oni to fight for you and using the elements. You can imbue them with an attribute, and a successful Ritual of Purification will increase the duration of the summon.
Skill (□) Summon Follower
: Summons an Oni that will follow you and attack the enemy for a limited time. During the Ritual of Purification, it will spin around you and attack.
Skill (Δ) Summon Striker
: Summons an Oni that lowers the enemy's elemental resistance for a limited time. During the Ritual of Purification, it creates a field that negates any elemental attacks.
Skill (○) Summon Bastion
: Summons an Oni that attacks the enemy in the area for a limited time. During the Ritual of Purification, it moves near you and reduces the attack interval.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Summon Decoy
: Summons an Oni that serves as your decoy for a limited time. Oni that touch the decoy create an explosion that damages any nearby enemies and knocks them back.
Attack Skill Summon Disciple
: Summons an Oni that appears where you last attacked and attacks the enemy for a limited time. The damage it deals is converted to Health and Focus for you. While active, your elemental defense is reduced.
This battle style specializes in attacks.Your Focus recovers faster during the Ritual of Purification, and will even recover while it is being consumed.

: Increases your Attack for a limited time.
Skill (Δ) Leech
: Steals Health from the enemy for a limited time.
Skill (○) Carnage
: All attacks become precision strikes for a limited time.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Immortal
: Prevents you from becoming incapacitated for a limited time.
Attack Skill Luminescence
: Powers up your attack techniques and increases the damage you inflict for a limited time. While active, the red portion of the Health Gauge will not refill automatically.
This battle style specializes in defense.The Defense Gauge fills during the Ritual of Purification and takes the place of Health until empty.
Skill (□) Taunt
: Increases your Defense and attracts the enemy's attention for a limited time.
Skill (Δ) Shield
: Increases the max size of the Defense Gauge and refills it.
Skill (○) Barrier
: Nullifies all incoming attacks for a limited time.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Solidity
: Reduces damage received for a limited time.
Attack Skill Onslaught
: Converts a portion of your Defense to Attack for a limited time.
This battle style focuses on swift, agile attacks. It reduces your Focus Gauge consumption for a variety of actions.
Skill (□) Energy
: Increases your movement speed and the refill rate of the Focus Gauge for a limited time.
Skill (Δ) Agility
: Enables a one-time nullification of all incoming attacks and enables you to dodge while attacking for a limited time.
Skill (○) Vigor
: Increases your attack speed and reduces the amount of Focus consumed for a limited time.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Acrobat
: Reduces the amount of Focus consumed when dodging, and allows you to dodge while attacking for a limited time.
Attack Skill Mirage
: Creates a mirage of your character that attacks the enemy for a limited time, although it increases your Focus consumption while active.
This battle style specializes in healing and recovery. Land an attack on an ally to heal that ally's status ailments, and improve your own recovery.
Skill (□) Zeal
: Restores the Focus of you and any nearby allies for a limited time.
Skill (Δ) Vitality
: Creates a field which gradually heals you and any allies within it.
Skill (○) Panacea
: Restores the Health and Focus, and cures the status ailments and incapacitation of any nearby allies.

: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Auto-therapy
: Restores your Health.
Attack Skill Exertion
: Consumes a portion of your Health to add additional damage to each attack for a limited time.
This battle style specializes in ranged attacks. It uses the Spirit Gauge filled during the Ritual of Purification to augment your Skills. Your attacks will also inflict additional damage if you fill the Spirit Gauge first.
Skill (□) Pursuit
: Compresses the power of the spirit, then fires a homing blast at the enemy. The last attacked spot will be targeted.
Skill (Δ) Fountain
: Causes an eruption of spirit from beneath the feet of the Oni.
Skill (○) Eruption
: Controls the spirit within the Oni's body, triggering an explosion. The last attacked spot will be targeted.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Curse
: Places a field beneath an Oni grabbed with Demon Hand that restricts its movements. The field's effect lasts for a limited time.
Attack Skill Illumination
: Illumination: Uses the strength of an Oni's soul to expose the life force of a body part. The last attacked spot will be targeted. While active, the damage against other body parts is reduced.
This battle style specializes in trickery and deceit. Attack an Oni from behind to improve your chances of a precision strike.
Skill (□) Puncture
: Fires needles which lower the defense of a body part.
Skill (Δ) Illusion
: Creates a field that hides your allies' presence.
Skill (○) Stupor
: Creates a field that paralyzes any Oni that enters it.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Apothecary
: Nullifies any status ailments.
Attack Skill Contagion
: Releases a deadly poison around you for a limited time. Attack a poisoned Oni to increase your chances of a precision strike. While active, it is easier to be hit with a status ailment.
This battle style specializes in the manipulation of space and aiding allies. It reduces Skill cooldown times for you and nearby allies during the Ritual of Purification.
Skill (□) Warp
: Enables you to warp forwards across the battlefield.
Skill (Δ) Sanctum
: Creates a field which is fixed in place, and purifies any Oni or Oni body part.
Skill (○) Paradox
: Creates a dimensional rift that draws in Oni and wounds any that touch it.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Purify
: Increases the effectiveness and range of the Ritual of Purification for a limited time. Purifying an Oni or body part reduces Skill cooldown times.
Attack Skill Vortex
: Creates a space which absorbs all light and eventually causes a large explosion. While active, you will be unable to purify objects with the Ritual of Purification.
This battle style relies on luck. The Ritual of Purification is unable to purify any objects, but a successful ritual will restore one of your Skills.
Skill (□) Random
: Triggers a Skill at random. Sometimes you will fire a blank, and nothing will happen.
Skill (Δ) Fortune
: Changes your Attack and Defense stats at random for a limited time.
Skill (○) Revival
: Restores some Skill stocks for nearby allies.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Fortuity
: Fills or restores Skill stocks, Health and Focus, or the Unity Gauge.
Attack Skill Providence
: Triggers an Attack Skill at random.
This Mitama specializes in assisting your allies. You can share a portion of your Weapon Gauge with nearby allies.
Skill (□) Altruism
: Increases Attack and Defense of nearby allies.
Skill (Δ) Diffusion
: Absorbs damage taken by nearby allies and distributes it across the entire party.
Skill (○) Sacrifice
: Makes any allies within the Ritual of Purification invulnerable, but gradually lowers your Health.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Phoenix
: Recovers an incapacitated status, and restores Health and Focus for a limited time.
Attack Skill Quicksilver
: Increases attack speed and shares your Unity Gauge with any nearby allies for a limited time.
This battle style specializes in destroying Oni body parts. Your Attack will be increased for a limited time after destroying a body part.
Skill (□) Breaker
: Increases your Attack against an Oni's body surface and body parts.
Skill (Δ) Ablution
: Imbues attacked body parts with the power of the Ritual of Purification after they are destroyed.
Skill (○) Intensity
: Refills the Weapon Gauge at a dramatically increased rate.
Skill (×) Recovery
: Restores your Health.
Evasion Skill Subjugation
: Causes an Oni to be instantly knocked back before you.
Attack Skill Heaven's Wrath
: Refills the Weapon Gauge and lets you perform a powerful Destroyer attack for a limited time. While active, your Health gradually decreases if your Weapon Gauge is not full.

Skills

These are special abilities given to the Slayers through the power of the Mitama. They can power up your character, bind an Oni's movements, and more.

  • Summon Follower: Summons an Oni that will follow you and attack the enemy for a limited time. During the Ritual of Purification, it will spin around you and attack.

  • Taunt: Increases Defense for a limited time, and attracts the Oni's attention.

  • Vitality: Creates a field which gradually heals you and any allies within it. The field's effect will last for a limited time.

Evasion Skills

These are a type of Skill received from Mitama affixed to your armor. They automatically provide special bonuses in battle when certain conditions are met.

  • Acrobat: Reduces the amount of Focus consumed when dodging, and allows you to dodge while attacking for a limited time.

Attack Skills

These are a type of Skill received from Mitama affixed to your weapons. They can provide you with powerful special attacks.

  • Luminescence: Powers up your attack techniques and increases your Attack for a limited time. While active, the red portion of the Health Gauge will not refill automatically.

Boosts

These are supplementary abilities possessed by the Mitama. They can boost your abilities in various ways, such as increasing your Attack strength, boosting your Health Gauge, and more.

Developing Mitama
Mitama grow and develop during battles, learn new Boosts and raise in level. In order to increase the levels of your Boosts, you must meet the upgrade conditions of each Boost and have sufficient proficiency with them. The upgrade conditions differ for each Mitama and Boost. Each Mitama can learn up to nine Boosts, but you can only equip three of them at a time.
